Throughout the world, Reamers are used in virtually all manufacturing process to
improve the straightness and finish of drilled holes, to enlarge drilled holes, and to produce highly accurate inside diameters of holes.
Omega's reamers are precision ground from the finest High Speed and Cobalt Tool Steels to insure consistently accurate results.
While there are many variations in shanks and flute configurations, most reamers are either Non-Piloted (The cutting flutes extend to the
tip of the Reamer) or they are Piloted. Piloted Reamers are similar to Non-Piloted Reamers except that they have a Reduced Diameter,
Non-Cutting Tip that allow the reamer to be positioned in an existing hole. Piloted reamers are usually used to enlarge existing holes.
The Pilot acts as a guide, and insures concentricity with the original hole. |
